Hello! My name is Luz! I'm a nonbinary & queer Latine born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. After getting my first Bachelor's degree in Biology and going through the motions of life, I decided to embrace my passion and pursue a second Bachelor's degree at UTRGV, this time in Graphic Design which I completed in Fall 2024.I bring insight, imagination, leadership, and determination with me in all that I do. I fully embrace the chance to try new things and push myself outside of my comfort zone. I am always open for collaboration and talking things through in order to achieve a design that works best for everyone.I work as a freelancer on the side with various content creators to bring in people to their channels, as well as with local grassroots organizations. One of my major contributions includes creating a series of RGV history exhibit panels that are featured in Museo 956, the first RGV Civil Rights Museum. Together with the Save The San Juan Hotel Collective, I help develop ideas and graphics for marketing and expansion. Some of my favorite things include video games, cartoons, anime, sunsets, and cats! I am also deeply invested in LGBTQIA+ issues as well as other social justice related issues. I try to bring pieces of my passions into everything I do and hope to continue being able to do so!
